How Pasi Apka boosted Customer Engagement: A Case Study of the Pasibus Application
The well-known Polish chain, Pasibus, renowned for its burgers and street food-style dishes, has been consistently digitizing its services. A significant milestone in enhancing the company’s digital processes was the launch of the Pasi Apka app in April 2023, which has since been downloaded by approximately 350,000 users. The technological facet of this initiative was managed by the Ordering Stack team, which had previously successfully deployed self-service kiosks at Pasibus locations.
Attention, loyalty, and customer engagement are incredibly valuable today. Therefore, creating a unique offering, enriched with an interesting array of discounts and special promotions, builds brand competitiveness. Attracting customers with attractive solutions like a user-friendly app or loyalty program becomes a necessity for many industries, including the gastronomic sector. This trend is visible worldwide, and the past year among fast-food restaurants was characterized by increased activity in this area. According to the British research agency Euromonitor International, in 2023, 23% of consumers making online transactions had registered between 3 to 5 restaurant applications.
The Pasibus brand follows changing consumer trends and recognized the need to create a user-friendly mobile application that would also effectively achieve marketing and sales objectives. The existing version no longer meets expectations, so a new version of the application – Pasi Apka, was prepared by the Ordering Stack team.
Mobile Application for Pasibus
The Ordering Stack team, which prepared a mobile application meeting the client’s requirements, undertook the implementation for Pasibus. One of its distinguishing features is that the tool connects with the Ordering Stack cloud services, and through them, also with the POS system operating in Pasibus locations. A well-designed application for restaurants can prove to be a real “game changer” and significantly impact the results and condition of the business.
A simple registration process that requires only essential data, based on native authentication mechanisms with the help of Google, Apple, and Facebook, or the ability to track the order status in the app – these are just some of the elements that make customers eager to use the restaurant’s offerings. The implementation of push notifications, which inform users about the status change of their order, further improves user comfort.
By focusing on core functionalities, the Ordering Stack team has produced a tool that fosters user engagement, particularly through coupon utilization. The Pasibus app exemplifies the effective use of digital kiosk’s broad promotional and sales features, demonstrating their practical application and integration into a mobile platform.
What does Pasi Apka contain?
- The application serves as a digital buzzer – users receive a notification about their order after scanning a dedicated QR code from their receipt, eliminating the need for a printed number. Many restaurants are transitioning away from physical buzzers, which, while convenient for customers, can be costly and challenging for staff to maintain, including tracking their quantity and ensuring they are stored properly. However, integrating a buzzer feature within the app provides equal convenience for both customers and staff.
- Users have access to bonus coupons, discounts, seasonal offers, and special rewards exclusive to the app. It enables the configuration of various promotional variants: selected coupons can be unlocked with a password, made available only during specific hours or days of the week, or limited to a certain number of uses – tailored to the creativity and requirements of marketers.
- Pasi Apka includes a clear map with the location and exact address of Pasibus restaurants and information about their operating hours.
- The application operates in two languages: Polish and English, and is available in Google Play and App Store.
Building engagement and a step towards a loyalty program
The application created by the Ordering Stack team for the restaurant chain meets sales objectives and also serves as a communication platform. “Grab the best deals in the app. Download Pasiapka and take advantage of coupons and special offers”, “Order a Pasi Feast at the kiosk, scan the dedicated QR code, and the app will let you know when your food is ready!”, “Time-limited coupons, turbo promotions, and mega discounts? Only with Pasi Apka!” – the Pasibus brand also uses the application as an additional channel in its distinctive language of communication with its customers.
A modern application with a loyalty program among gastronomic companies is today a distinguishing feature in the competitive landscape, but also a necessity. According to the “Loyalty Programs Monitor 2023” report published by ARC Rynek i Opinia, as many as 2 out of 3 adult Poles participate in at least one loyalty program, with up to 90% of participants using mobile applications for this purpose. To meet customer expectations, the next development phase of the Pasibus app will include a loyalty module, allowing its users to use coupons and collect points – even when orders are placed with a cashier.
